Pediatric Safety Coalition - Session 3

This on-demand recording captures the third meeting of the Pediatric IV Safety Coalition, building on prior discussions and expanding the conversation to include deeper clinical insight, vascular access innovation, and system-level leadership perspectives.

Coalition members hear from experts across the care continuum, beginning with the realities of neonatal IV therapy in high-risk populations, including the impact of fluids, complications, and the growing pressures of patient volume. The session then explores advancements in pediatric vascular access, emphasizing strategies to minimize risk and improve the patient experience through a more intentional focus on vessel health.

In addition to frontline and clinical considerations, this session highlights the importance of translating ideas into action at the organizational level. The discussion centers on building a strong executive pitch—clearly defining the problem, supporting it with meaningful data and metrics, and outlining the clinical and financial impact alongside desired outcomes. Together, these elements help align strategy, operations, and patient-centered care to drive meaningful, sustainable change—reinforcing the shared goal of reducing harm and improving outcomes for pediatric patients.
