ivWatch Introduces IV Safety Technology in Canada

ivWatch to Sell Direct in Canada to Hospitals, is Awarded its Third Patent in Region, and Attends Vascular Access Trade Show

Newport News, VA, April 26, 2023– ivWatch, LLC, the IV safety company, introduces patient monitoring technology used for the early detection of infiltrations and extravasations to Canadian hospital representatives in Toronto. ivWatch will exhibit at the Canadian Vascular Access Association (CVAA) & the Global Vascular Access Network joint event this year. These two renowned groups are working in concert to improve vascular access care for all patients. This marks the ability for ivWatch to bring this technology to the country by offering direct sales to Canada, under its Canadian Medical Device License.

The company will now offer its Patient Monitoring System, which includes a Patient Monitor and a miniaturized SmartTouch Sensor, to all hospital departments for all patient populations in Canada. The continuous IV monitoring technology is the only available advancement in IV safety that detects fluid leaking outside of the vein into the surrounding tissue, often before tactile examination. The company has been awarded over 65 patents globally, of which, three have been awarded in Canada. The most recent Canadian Patent No. 2,867,180 was issued for the system and its ability to mitigate the effects of tissue blood volume changes, decreasing false alarm rates and improving device sensitivity.

“Introducing the company’s cutting-edge technology to Canada is another critical step towards reaching our expansion goals and driving our continued growth throughout the world,” said Chris Pridgen, Vice President, North American Sales. “The community’s passion towards continued advancement in healthcare for all and the desire to introduce new technology, supports clinicians who are in a severe time of staffing shortages and burnout, and looking for help to enhance their care.”

ivWatch leadership will be hosting in-person demonstrations at the 2023 CVAA & WoCoVA Special Event Crossing Borders: A Global Perspective on Vascular Access. Visit the ivWatch booth to see the technology live and discuss current standards in IV safety with members of the ivWatch leadership team on April 26-28, 2023 in Toronto.
