The FDA has cleared ivWatch’s SmartTouch disposable sensor for early detection of problems with peripheral intravenous (IV) lines.
The single-use sensor offers options for monitoring the IV sites of active patients and it can be paired with the company’s patient monitor to track the optical properties of tissue near the insertion site.
The sensor notifies clinicians in real-time of tissue changes that could indicate a potential infiltration of the IV. View the story on FDANews.
